Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers are required to be tested annually, and discharged every 5 years for water, Foam and dry powder units and every ten years for Co2 units. Our BAFE trained extinguisher engineers can advise you on the location of the fire extinguishers and the type required. We offer two levels of service depending on the number of units you have. Option one is tho standard service whereby you pay for our attendance and a cost per unit per inspection. Alternatively an all in service can be taken where by you pay the same amount each year and never have to buy another lable, pin or in fact another extinguisher. Smoke Extraction Systems

A smoke extraction system whether linked to a fire alarm system or an independent system that actuates fans, opens windows or smoke vents in the area of the smoke detection must be tested to ensure full function in an emergency. normally on escape routes and higher risk areas. Your smoke system has been installed to ensure that any smoke is removed at the earliest stages of a fire and is there for you and your staffs benifit. Ensure it will function when its needed.




Wet and Dry Rising Mains & Sprinkler Systems

Again these are installed to ensure there is fire protection available at an early stage and to assist the fire service carry out their works. Hose reels although not so popular these days are also to be tested to ensure that if required they will operate. These items are to be tested annually and a certificate should be available for inspection by the fire authority. Always remember to ensure the engineer / inspecting officer has access to your fire log book so they may complete it and check on any previous recommendations or works. comply to the current British Standards.





5 Yearly Building Electrical certificate

Fixed wire test and inspection +to BS 7651 All buildings must have their electrical system certificated every five years. The certificate should be available on site for inspection by the authorities. Firepoint-UK provides inspection and testing of electrical installations as an essential part of ensuring compliance with electrical requirement of the Electricity at work regulations 1989, The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations). The Electricity at Work Regulations state that all electrical systems and equipment used in the working environment should be in a safe condition. The health and safety executive requires that to comply with the regulations an inspection and testing schedule must be implemented in all work places. The frequency of this schedule will depend on the type of environment typically either 3 years for industrial installations and 5 years for commercial installations.
